TRIBE Paris Pantin Review: Is This Stylish Hotel Near La Villette Worth It?

Last Updated on 15/08/2026 by Mayi

If you’re looking for a modern place to stay in the eastern part of Paris, TRIBE Paris Pantin is well worth considering. It could be a good alternative to staying around Canal Saint-Martin or La Villette, especially if you prefer somewhere with a little more space and a different atmosphere.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights in August 2026 while visiting Paris and attending an exhibition at La Villette. With its bold interiors, canal-side setting and convenient transport links, it made a practical base for our trip. There were a few small details in the room that could have been better, but overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Here’s how we found it.

First Impressions of TRIBE Paris Pantin

Our first impression of TRIBE Paris Pantin was very positive.

The hotel feels fresh and contemporary, with an arty, design-focused interior that gives it more personality than a typical chain hotel. Art and design books are dotted around the foyer, while the darker colours and modern furniture give the communal areas an attractive, almost boutique-hotel feel.

The reception area is combined with a small, well-stocked bar, which makes the entrance feel more relaxed and sociable than a conventional hotel lobby.

The staff we met were friendly and helpful. Most of them spoke both French and English, so checking in and asking questions was straightforward.

There are also several comfortable sofa areas around the lobby where you can sit with a drink, relax or get some work done. We noticed other guests using the dedicated workspaces, so the hotel could be a good option if you need to work during your stay.

Our Standard Double Room

We booked a standard double room, and our first impression was that it was very clean, modern and well maintained.

There was a good amount of storage, which made it easy to unpack, and the air conditioning worked particularly well. We really appreciated that during the August heat.

The room also had a large television opposite the bed, along with a small table, stool and chair. The table was useful for working on a laptop, although anyone planning to work for several hours might prefer using the communal workspaces downstairs.

The bed was reasonably comfortable, although we wouldn’t describe it as exceptional.

One feature we liked was the clothes steamer, which was provided instead of a traditional iron and ironing board. A hairdryer was also supplied.

There were, however, a few areas where the room could have been better equipped.

There was only one USB charging point beside the bed, which felt rather limited for a modern hotel room, particularly when two people are sharing. The tea and coffee facilities were also fairly basic, with just two tea bags and two coffee capsules provided.

A water carafe and glasses had been placed in the room when we arrived, but unfortunately the carafe was empty and remained that way throughout our stay. These are only small details, but replenishing the water and providing a little more tea and coffee would have made the room feel more thoughtfully prepared.

The Bathroom

The bathroom continued the hotel’s clean, contemporary design and was spotless when we arrived.

We did have an issue with the shower-room door, which was opening incorrectly. After reporting it and following up with reception, the maintenance team dealt with the problem and confirmed that it had been fixed.

The sliding bathroom door could also be quite noisy when closing, especially at night. This is one part of the room where the design could perhaps be improved.

That said, it was reassuring that the hotel responded when we raised the maintenance issue and resolved it during our stay.

Was the Hotel Quiet?

Despite being on the first floor, we had no problems with noise from the street or neighbouring rooms.

That was a pleasant surprise, particularly given the hotel’s busy urban setting. The only real noise issue came from the sliding bathroom door inside the room rather than from elsewhere in the hotel.

Bar, Restaurant and Facilities

TRIBE Pantin isn’t the kind of hotel you would choose for resort-style facilities. For example, there is no gym or spa.

Instead, the focus is more on attractive communal spaces. The small bar beside reception was well kept and staffed by friendly people, making it a pleasant place to have a drink without heading out.

There is also a spacious dining area downstairs. We didn’t eat at the hotel during our stay, so we can’t comment on the food or breakfast.

For travellers who mainly want a comfortable and attractive base for exploring the area, the lack of extensive facilities may not be especially important.

Location: Excellent for La Villette

For us, one of the biggest advantages of TRIBE Pantin was its location.

We were visiting an exhibition at La Villette, and the hotel was extremely convenient for getting there. It’s also close to the canal, Pantin town hall and various transport links, making it a practical alternative to staying in central Paris.

The location should be particularly appealing if much of your itinerary is focused on Pantin or La Villette. Being close to the canal is another bonus, especially if you enjoy exploring neighbourhoods on foot rather than simply travelling between the main tourist attractions.

What We Liked

The main highlights of our stay were:

  • Stylish, art-inspired interiors.
  • Fresh, modern décor throughout the hotel.
  • Very clean room and bathroom.
  • Effective air conditioning.
  • Friendly and helpful staff.
  • A quiet room, despite being on the first floor.
  • Comfortable communal spaces for relaxing or working.
  • An excellent location for La Villette and Pantin.

What Could Be Improved

There weren’t any major problems, but a few small changes would have improved the experience:

  • More USB charging points beside the bed.
  • More generous tea and coffee supplies.
  • Regularly replenished drinking water.
  • A quieter sliding bathroom door.
  • More thorough checks of room fixtures before guests arrive.

None of these issues would stop us from staying again, but addressing them would make an already pleasant room feel more polished.

Who Is TRIBE Pantin Best For?

We think TRIBE Pantin would suit couples, solo travellers and business travellers looking for a contemporary hotel away from the busiest parts of central Paris.

It’s also a practical choice if you’re visiting La Villette, attending an exhibition or event nearby, or simply want to explore a different side of the Paris area.

If a swimming pool, spa or gym is an important part of your hotel stay, this probably won’t be the right choice. But if you value good design, cleanliness, friendly service and a convenient location, there’s plenty to like.

Would We Stay Again?

Overall, our stay at TRIBE Pantin was a pleasant surprise.

The hotel makes a strong first impression with its arty, contemporary design, and we particularly liked the stylish communal areas and convenient location. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable enough for a three-night city stay, while the air conditioning was excellent during a hot August weekend.

There are some relatively easy improvements the hotel could make, particularly around the room provisions, USB charging points and minor maintenance details. However, none of these issues had a significant effect on our trip.

For anyone visiting La Villette or looking for a modern base in Pantin with a little more personality than the average chain hotel, TRIBE Pantin is well worth considering.

Our rating: 8/10.
