Hotel Rotary Geneva MGallery by Sofitel – Hotel Review

Last Updated on 16/06/2019 by secretmoona

Hotel Rotary Geneva – MGallery by Sofitel is a luxury hotel located right in the city centre. It’s part of the MGallery by Sofitel brand, Accor Group.

Getting to the hotel is easy as it is located in the business district, few minutes away from Geneva Cornavin station. This means that it is not difficult to explore the area. You can easily wander around the neighboring streets to see the different sights. Head northwest for L’Horloge Fleurie and Jet d’Eau or south for the old historic town.

It was my first time staying in one of MGallery properties so I didn’t know what to expect. Entering the Hotel Rotary Geneva for the first time, I was struck with its chic design. As you can in the pictures above, the reception desk and the rest of the lounge area have a very different design although they complement each other very well. I love how cosy and intimate it feels. Check-in was quick and efficient. We were given a brief overview of the hotel and a visitors’ travel pass.

Rooms at Hotel Rotary Geneva

With 95 rooms including 15 deluxe (signature) rooms and 10 duplex rooms, Hotel Rotary Geneva is not a massive hotel. There isn’t a big difference between the Classic and Signature rooms. The only change is within the in-room amenities. Our Signature room was stylish with an accent of orangey/ocre and black furniture creating an elegant and chic finish.  The room had all you would expect from a hotel room with in addition a Nespresso machine and a complementary minibar. The snacks and drinks were a nice treat after a day exploring the city.

The bed was really comfortable and spacious. Despite the central location, the street was quiet therefore sleeping was not disturbed.

The bathroom was clean with all the amenities. We even had a jute body scrubber which was greatly appreciated.

Eating at Hotel Rotary Geneva

Restaurant L'Artisan - Hotel Rotary Geneva

Our room package included breakfast therefore on the next day, we headed down for our first meal of the day. At Hotel Rotary Geneva, breakfast is served in the restaurant L’Artisan which converts into a bar and dinner in the evening.

Breakfast spread

The breakfast spread was great with a good selection of everything you would expect from a continental breakfast. It ranged from your choice of egg (on order) to fresh homemade pastries, organic fruits and yoghurt, charcuterie and cheese options, pancakes and much more. I found that while the breakfast spread was good, the quantities were on the small side. For example, if you are a big eater, you will find the size of the scrambled egg small. You will have to ask for a refill. Don’t expect to see a full English breakfast!

As mentioned previously, the hotel has a restaurant.  However, unfortunately for us, it is closed during the weekend so we were unable to sample the food they had on offer. You can still enjoy the cosy and elegant atmosphere of the bar while snacking and enjoying a drink or two. As part of our stay, we were offered a drink voucher which we used on cocktails.

Thoughts on Hotel Rotary Geneva

We had the best time at Hotel Rotary Geneva MGallery by Sofitel. The professional staff made us feel welcome from the moment we set our foot in the premises to the moment we left. They were always attentive to our needs. I really loved this property and if I have to go back to Geneva, I will definitely book it again!
